AcuConsole Tutorials

AcuConsole is a GUI-based pre-processor for AcuSolve. Users can import geometry and create a mesh, or import a mesh created with another package. The complete AcuSolve problem can be defined. AcuConsole is also cutomizable for setup of repetitive problems. The following tutorials are meant to be a brief introduction to AcuConsole.

Pipe with Boundary Layers. AcuConsole can be used to create tetrahedral meshes with boundary layers. The resultant prism/wedge elements are converted to tetrahedral elements. Click on this link to download only the instructions.

Conjugate Pipe Elbow. AcuConsole can create meshes for assemblies of multiple parts. This is useful for conjugate heat transfer, among other uses. The mesh at the boundary between the parts will be consistent (i.e. one set of nodes, one set of surfaces.) Click on this link to download only the instructions.

Mixer with Reference Frame. AcuConsole can be used to develop models for mixing tanks - in this case using a reference frame analysis. For a reference frame analysis, the mesh at the boundary between the stationary and "reference frame" element sets needs to be flow-through. Click on this link to download only the instructions.

Mixer with Moving/Sliding Mesh. This is a continuation of the mixer with reference frame. Now the mesh is modified in AcuConsole to accomodate a moving/sliding mesh analysis. The boundary mesh between the stationary and moving element sets is split to create two sets of nodes and two sets of surfaces. The mesh motion is also defined. 2D Rigid Body Dynamics. This tutorial demonstrates the capability of AcuSolve to compute rigid body dynamics. A previously-built mesh is imported and the problem setup is performed in AcuConsole. The mesh motion beyond the rigid body itself is specified using a piecewise-linear curve fit on the rigid body motion. Click on this link to download only the instructions.

AcuConsole Customization of Static Mixer. This is an example of the capabilities for a user to customize AcuConsole for a particular type of problem - a static mixer in this case. This contains a tutorial and an explanation of the python code to accomplish the customization. Click on this link to download only the instructions.
